Nostr stands for “Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays” and then Damus was a pun playing off of Nostradamus. But I don’t think when Nostr was launched
fiatjaf (npub180c…h6w6) had Nostradamus in mind. It was a happy accident.
