I don't have any recipes like that from my mother (who is an excellent baker), because everything she does is either from memory or from cooking magazines. It's only in the last few years that she's gotten around to clipping the recipes she likes out of the magazines, rather than keeping entire back issues and searching through them on the basis of the cover. Three decades of Bon Appetit dragged from house to house until they finally had to downsize.
