I am, I'm just mostly isolated from marketing-related pop culture because (1) I have never owned a TV/paid for cable and (2) I'm pretty hardcore about blocking ads or not subscribing to services that include them.
I never thought I was missing much, but I'm realizing now the oddity of being surrounded by American culture and still ignorant of a major chunk of it.
(No regrets, it's just interesting how I'm completely oblivious to things everyone else recognizes.)
