I have started a map of a small part of Inis Mór on Oileáin Árann (Aran Islands) on a 100x65mm boxwood block. You have to take that beautiful surface, cover it with ink, draw on it and then cut into it.
Lanes, field walls and coast outlined, now to somehow represent the texture of the landscape, starting with the strikingly flat and regular limestone pavement.
I think a series of engravings may need to evolve for these amazing islands.
