I feel like initially I tried the inverse, and had a lot less success with that: If you see a job that needs doing, try and find someone competent to do that job.
Like, unless you’re in a hierarchical situation where you can freely move people onto tasks - you have the headcount you have, and the problems are what they are.
If something isn’t being taken care of that’s often because there isn’t someone competent around to take care of it.
