Oh man, yet another Philip K Dick prediction to take seriously: automated factories governed exclusively by AI. The AUTOFACs produce everything any consumer needs to keep the factory producing goods and services--and of course profit. This includes producing the consumers themselves by programming droids with human consumer needs and personalities. A Mobius flip of political economy that PKD imagined 40+ years ago. Doesn't seem far-fetched in the slightest anymore.
