Ah argh, so part of the situation is also the camera being much more sensitive to LED light vs what can be seen in the wild?
That's never any fun to adjust for, and triple so when alone and on timer / remote. :(
I heard these days some top-end DSLRs have an internal wifi AP which you can use with a phone app for remote preview and settings tweaking, but that's crazy expensive, niche, and I bet still less convenient than it sounds, considering their track record with UI/UX design...
