Why do children blame each other? It would not suprise if they refuse to take accountabilty for their actions. Excuses and blaming make an luring exit of the situation. I also believe they do that because of a missing skil or knowledge to solve the problem before them. Help them overcome and they will stop blaming others or make excuses.
And, o yes, this goes for most so called grown-ups to: victimizing yourself is the refusal of taking responsibility. That refusal is rooted in inability to deal with a situation.
