There are two distinct types of data for any decentralized app. First and the most obvious is the user contributions, this data should be cryptographically signed, timestamped and should be verifiable wherever it goes. The signature is just as valuable as the data itself. Nostr does this perfectly. Every user contribution is a signed 'event'.

The other type of data is the indexing. The amalgamation of the user content and split out into searchable, retrievable segments. This is something Nostr is struggling with. Coincidentally this is why companies like Google, Github, Amazon etc are all so valuable, they have monopolized the indexing of data.

Decentralizing the indexes is not impossible, but it is tricky and is often overlooked.
