Can’t help but think about the last 200 years of Rome, and how the illusion of an army propped it up as further debasement of its money and abandoning of its people continued.

Eventually, there will be enough opposing forces smelling weakness that they end up taking action, be it financial, political, or kinetic.

Really hard not to compare to other empires.

US is not like the UK - it can’t shrink its empire by relinquishing control over land and its products… the US only has finances and violence to let go of.

Not saying it’s imminent, or even going to happen, but it sure feels like something’s brewing… and it’s getting harder to dismiss.
The US Federal government is nothing more than a black hole.
