Considering different options and I think my #1 priority for a resolution has to be phone addiction. Going cold turkey is not feasible, but what might be is just saying that I can't touch it until noon.
There are several issues with this. Some involving 2FA, others involving emergency contacts, and others non-emergency contacts where it becomes a fucking emergency if they can't get hold of you because that's just the culture we live in now.
For that, signal desktop may be a good option, which I didn't know about until a few days ago.
For 2FA, probably the answer is to get everything off of SMS verification as much as possible, which I think has gone out of favor anyway. I have non-active phones that I can use but they obviously do not have a sim card. Auth apps should still work for those.
