I hear you on traditional. I love India ink and watercolor but I *need* control+z. Blender is great, a bit crashy depending on build, but it’s amazing for the price. If I can give you one tip I’d say print out a shortcut cheatsheet and stick it to the bottom of your monitor. :D And learn the hard surface stuff before the sculpting unless you’re from zbrush and like pain! I hope it helps with your animation projects. I know a lot of vx folk like Houdini but still can’t get my head around that way of working (tho blender goes more node based all the time)

MD, I use to draft patterns and for cloth simulation and then I import into blender to build scenes for painting reference.
