I'm no expert in PR but I reckon that if you come out on Monday and say you have to make hundreds of low-salaried people redundant and raise all ticket prices because "the club will run out of money by the end of the year", maybe, MAYBE, don't come out on Tuesday and say you want to build a whole new stadium for £2bn. It's not a good look.
