I love looking for agates on our local beaches. Not every beach, but the special spots, that used to be known mostly by the locals. Now there is plenty of competition as agate picking is more popular.
While I was making my way to my friends front door today these beauties caught my eye. They were all over the ground. It seems that a lifetime of his agate collecting was in a plastic container that disintegrated when it was moved.
His happy place was always at the beach.
I only picked up a few of the agates in the rain, but will go back, on a dry day, to pick up enough rocks to make a keepsake jar for his bedside table.
He collected some doozies.
