There’s no one answer, and it depends on the intention of your digital identity.

If the intention is to subvert existing power structures and challenge authority, then you likely never want to transfer that to the real world. The anonymity IS the value. The change you are able to affect in the world through that anonymity IS the value.

If the purpose of your digital reputation is to build something that is not influenced or affected by your real world identity, that’s different. Think of a nom de plume. in that case you build, whatever you’re building to such great value that at some point, revealing your identity is shielded from the reputation, you’ve already built and the value thus transfers. In other words, you billet something to the point where the value is so great and so many people appreciate it that when they discover who is really behind it, they don’t really care because the value is self evident.
