How much do you edit as you write, and how much do you leave to the second draft?
Never. I turn off spell-checker, grammarly, and Word-Editor when I'm tap out my first draft.
Second draft is a developmental edit - for tone and plot structure. Some scenes get cut, some swapped out - sometimes character motivations chance - etc.
