I really do like the fact that it is so quick and easy to set up temporary filters in Mastodon's advanced web interface, when there are personally triggering events happening in the news.

What's happening in U.S. politics is constantly distressing and upsetting me, but as a Canadian 🇨🇦 I am powerless to do anything about it, and rather than let it trigger a depressive spiral, I choose to filter it.

I choose my good mental health over my need to be informed of whatever the latest outrage is.
