"content": "Meet the TurboGrafx-16. It's based on a 6502, so it should have been called the TurboGrafx-8. 🤨\n\nBut, since it was released in North America (1989) after the Mega Drive had been released in Japan (1988), I guess they had to preempt it in the american market and instead used the width of its video processor's data bus.\n\nTo be fair, in Japan it was called the PC Engine (1987), a much more sensible name that doesn't mislead.
