Here's my dad after he joined Antifa in the 1940s. (back row, 2nd from left) He flew 28 missions in about 8 months as 2nd Lt. navigator on B-17s and other bombers. They did not collect any nazi scalps that I am aware of. He never talked about it or acted like he did anything special. I love this picture, what a great looking crew. I feel like Gus Walz when I look at it.
