My feelings about fatherhood are complicated. I prefer to dwell on gratitude for the gifts I received and what I learned from my father. He did his best and I genuinely owe him a lot.
I hope in turn to have done better, on average, as a father. I am still a work in progress.
I look forward to seeing my son in a bit. I enjoy that we have easily found opportunities and reasons to get together at least monthly since he got his own place over a year ago.
