I can't believe it's been 20 years since the blackout of 2003. I was on the subway. Stuck down there for over an hour before they walked us out through the tunnel and up a ladder through one of those metal plates in the sidewalk. Walked home from 57th and 7th to Grand St and the FDR, then up 18 flights to our apartment. We were in the dark for almost 50 hours. One of the last areas in Manhattan to come back on.
