Not sure where this idea that privacy means being a complete ghost came from.
Privacy just means the ability to selectively reveal information to different parties.
I'd prefer that Google (and other tech companies) not harvest and sell my most intimate data.
Fortunately I am in a situation where this is not life or death, but for many people in this world, it is.
