I wrote this note the other day but kept it in draft I was so disgusted and didn't want to bring up politics. But it fits perfectly here...
I just heard this story first hand from a canvasser. It pretty much sums up why I hate politics.
The canvasser just finished going around to a few houses. Most houses didn't respond/weren't home, some were positive, but one was nasty.
That nasty homeowner also happened to have a sign out stating NO SOLICITORS. The canvasser mentioned that canvassing during election season is not considered soliciting as determined by the courts. SERIOUSLY?! (Talk about rules for my thee but not for me, but I digress)
These people were neighbors of said canvasser. Why would someone act like that to their neighbor? First to ignore their wishes for no solicitation and then spat over the legality.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
