I don't think history as a measurement of timekeeping is a coherent concept since humans are imperfect timekeepers. In the same vein, our concept and experience of time is something separate from the literal motion of the universe as it expresses itself on earth in seasonal and day/night cycles. There's an aspect of forgetfulness that I don't think the universe itself experiences, that's the most important difference if I were to guess
