In our twisted economic dystopia, that which matters most is valued least. Big Tech eats cheap materials. Cheap land. Cheap water. Cheap energy. Cheap for Big Tech means the environment is paying heavy costs. In the Arizona desert, suffering from historic droughts, there is a race to build data centers and chip fabs. Why? Because the land is cheap, the electricity is cheap, and underneath there is water that has built up its reserves over much time. This reservoir is being sucked dry.
