I don’t disagree that you need to have skin in the game to make decisions at the GitHub level, but it’s just the way that it was handled that leaves a bad taste. If you’re funded by grants, consider treating community input as good feedback, not something to actively fight off, even if you disagree with it, and even if rightfully so.
