If I were one of those ancient gods I mentioned earlier, I'd make damn sure that before anybody got "rich", everybody--and I mean everybody--had decent shelter, clothes, food, access to education, free health care, jobs that paid a living wage, safe drinking water, etc.
And then--with my god powers--I'd invert wages so people with crappy boring unsafe jobs got paid the most, and people with cool prestigious jobs got paid enough to get by.
Then I'd put AWESOME libraries in every town. Fun!
