Now friend's monitor's not switching on again. It comes up but some warm-up circuit thing is forcing the signal blank in the video processor (Philips TDA4680).
Looks like note 10 here explains our issue. Any clever solution someone's got to disable this stupid output blanking "feature?" - I kinda suck at electronics still. We think it's passing the first switch-on delay but stuck on the second. ( see also
