#writerscoffeeclub 9 Feb How do you deal with describing specific character ethnicities?
In stories set in some version of our world, often I do it with names. If the ethnic background is more important than just a passing detail, then I'll mention it outright and details of it will come up in the story.
As for ethnicity and looks, there is so much variety within ethnic labels that I tend to just describe the person.
