I believe that in the future, the dollars collateralize in bitcoin will have as a security mechanism (not for people), a date and valuation of respective bitcoin:
"This dollar is worth 0.00001 BTC from the date 20xx"
Think of the government recording the final value of BTC on a daily basis and recording this on the physical note or package of collateralize virtual dollars.
It will still be crap. But you can collect just like Pokemon!
