The state should not be in the business of murdering its own residents (or preferably, anyone).
However, I'm seeing a lot of really stupid arguments over why N2 anoxia is *specifically* a bad or inhumane choice, and, they are at best deeply misinformed.
The reason inert-gas anoxia is bad is because it allows people to believe that executing a human being could ever be a clean, tidy, "humane" act. Guillotine is equally humane but messy; you can't look on pretending you're not watching a murder.
