If you've ever been in charge of an IT department within a company, you realise how much more power you had than you should be allowed.
Bitcoin core developers have to implement decisions, and they need to understand the nuance of these decisions and be able to feed back when they see decisions have unintended consequences.
But developers don't get to make the decisions.
