That may be the problem too: I can go by the assumption that the laryngeal theory should be accessible to everyone, but it's not.
I still don't know anything with minimal interest in computing who is running Linux for reasons. I even know computing students who stay away from it.
My guess is the word 'convenience' is interpreted differently.
