Just a note to people, perhaps even a #FediTips #PSA...
We don't get anything from having more people on our servers. In fact a lot of #servers limit sign ups after a certain point because of the resources required for large user bases.
When people offer to help you move from #Mastodon.Social, or to their #instance, it's usually because Mastodon.Social is widely considered to offer the worst experience, and they think they can get you a better experience elsewhere.
I realize that it probably looks suspicious to people who aren't fully aware of how the #Fediverse #SocialNetwork is run, because it's very different from other #SocialMedia, but moving servers is good for everyone involved, especially if the server you are moving to is more in line with the kind of thing you want to talk about.
