Back when I first joined fedi, I quicly learned about this "nefarious" instance that was "full of Nazis and run by one".
This instance was disqordia.
Having spent more time on here, I have realised that this is complete and utter bullshit. Full stop.
Having mutuals on there, and having interacted more with eris, I can confidently say that this is an instance that is nothing like what has so often been said about it. Every interaction that I've ever had with a disqordia user has been positive, and I don't ever see that changing.

"You are not immune to propaganda" is almost something of a meme at this point, but it's a statement that holds a lot of truth. The lesson to learn from the slander of disqordia is that, well, you are not immune to propaganda.
When admins of instances go out of their way to spread lies about an instance that provides a welcoming place for those who they claim to protect, we have a problem.

The actions of those such as the admins of weirder.earth, among others, can not be forgiven. If we wish to truly protect queer people, and if we wish to protect some of the most vulnerable people out there, this needs to stop. I'm tired of blocks for "federating with the usual supects". I've had it with "eris is a Nazi". The actions of these admins are very plainly defamation, and we have to stop letting this happen if we wish to keep the fedi that we love so very much. The oppression of queer people by instance admins is not something that we can tolerate. A fair chunk of fedi has let slander and lies propagate uncontrollably, and has damaged the reputation of instances that dare even federate with disqordia, which, may I remind you, is a queer antifascist instance. Defederating them shows nothing but your weakness, your willingness to bend to the will of a certain few who have established themselves as the dictators of the fediblock hashtag, who will gladly disregard the truth if it means some more internet clout for them.

I don't care how you do it, nor to what level, nor what kind of a difference you personally make by attempting to change this, but I ask that you, the reader, do what you can in stopping the silencing of queer voices on fedi. If your admin is considering defederating, or has defederated, disqordia, ask them to reconsider that decision, or even migrate elsewhere.

And a final note to end this post off on: if you spread lies about disqordia, or side with those who do, please fuck off. Thank you.
