yeah but anyone could set the handle to your handle, so impersonation and phishing attacks would be very easy to pull off. nip05 is probably better to support, you could add people based on their nip05 identifier like jb55@jb55.com jb55@damus.io, etc. this maps to a proper nostr pubkey.
