It is a very hard question as the answer would require seeing into the future looking for something that was never done before. I therefore will not risk a direct answer. I do think that this kind of situation is best solved by free market dynamics. When nostr will reach critical mass, solutions for such "old internet" problems will naturally pop up. So possibly we should not try to guess the future but only help it along. Another thing I'm sure of is that ads cannot work, for a quute big variety of reasons.
