One the sad things about Twitter dying is that nothing else gives us such a clear window into consensus
The mainstream media doesn’t—they manufacture consensus to the point of gaslighting. Masto doesn't fill the gap—it's not remotely inclusive enough to portray the cross-section of voices Twitter once did.
Once upon a time, Twitter was a real time report on the ground truth of things, albeit for the subset of extremely online kinds of people.
