Agree with that. I played for a few years but conditions weren't ideal where I lived. Had one of those yamaha silent brass mutes that get put in the cone so that it doesn't cause neighbours/wife to contemplate murder. Really fiddly and I didn't have enough devotion to hike up into the hills to play alone in the middle of the forest with the mozzies.
As with a fair amount music that I resonate with I am defo drawn to that.....erm.....like melancholy minor key vibe. You probably lucky enough to have worked with some live brass sound in your studio work?
