Heathrow Airport experienced a record-breaking summer, with 30.7 million passengers traveling through the airport from June to September. The airport's busiest day for departures and arrivals in its history was on July 24 and September 2, respectively. As a result, Heathrow has increased its 2024 passenger forecast to 83.8m. The airport also made a pre-tax profit of £696m in the first nine months of the year, compared to £618m during the same period a year earlier. Heathrow's chief executive, Thomas Woldbye, said the busy summer tested the airport's infrastructure and airlines to cooperate harder than ever before.
