Does anyone remember that environmentalist lawyer who had been well known in the environmental legal field and who self immolated in a Brooklyn park in protest over US climate inaction?
I can't recall his name but I remember his colleagues and allies talking about how serious he was, how deeply he cared, and how stricken he was at the impending crisis.
#aaronbushnell 's sacrifice is part of a tradition of extreme moral outrage and protest that is meant to force us to reconsider our path.
I'm not sure the US has the integrity or moral ballast for that.
