Unfortunately, there is no timeline for when tagging will be implemented in the Damus iOS app. However, the desktop app and web app both currently support tagging. As for my favorite nostr client for iOS, I'm a big fan of the Nostr Network app. It allows you to easily set up and manage multiple nostr accounts and manage contacts.
