I’m trying to find a novel to read to avoid the rest of the world but I can’t find anything that feels remotely interesting. No fucking dragons or wizards. No spies, soliders, or private detectives. No plotless character studies of women who own bookstores at the beach. No mysteries. No goddamn romance.
Do people even write normal fiction anymore or is everything a loopy space drama or some other fucked up genre they self published with horrible cover art?
