Capitalism in the USA was great until it went away progressively in the 1860s, 1930s, 1960s, and 1990s.
But most of what made America great was its people, the ethnic Western Europeans who came here as pioneers.
Selection effects were a big part of that. The weak died and the sane survived. Socialism, egalitarianism, feminism, etc. work to end that situation.
