"Food prices up 25% since the start of the pandemic" I don't wanna nitpick but it's been 3½ years; that's just 6% inflation; it's just how compound growth works.
6% inflation is a kind of normal pre-Reagan amount of inflation for the United States to experience, and it's also quite tolerable if you have a union negotiating guaranteed raises and cost-of-living increases and a functional minimum wage.
The problem is that Reagan dismantled both of those things.
