Not sure we're talking about the same thing but...
I've always had a heightened awareness of how present actions and behaviors lead to habits which have predictable future outcomes.
I would say the key is remembering the only power anyone has over the future is a present moment decision.
This perspective takes out the future. Focus on now. It's all we can do.
