They say the AI "stole" their work. Well, how would the AI "steal"? The AI has public access to the web and downloads images en masse then uses those images as reference to make something else.
Therefore that means the artists' work was freely available in digital form online that anyone can Right click > Save. So if I Right click > Save, am I stealing? Lol.
The same argument was made by those idiots that purchased jpegs for millions (NFTs).
If your image is easily downloadable, it's not stealing to do so. Sorry/not sorry.
