Yes, sadness was my overriding reaction. It was so comforting to know that Jessica Fletcher could go from grieving widow on the verge of destitution to wealthy and celebrated author in a year, and that real life bubbled up examples like Rowling. Then one realizes that the fiction is, well, fiction, and that a Rowling is as rare as someone winning a lottery.
