My parents, who were hardcore RW in the 80s & 90s, never ever ever ONCE suggested AIDs wasn't HIV or that HIV was fake. I had not heard of this concept until the early 00s, and all from "Left Wing" people.
But something very strange started happening abt this in the 2000s, that I think nobody has really noticed?
There's been a "horseshoe" style fusion of "Leftist Hippies" and "Right Wingers" when it comes to Vaccination and disease denialism, etc.
When the Convoy Truckers came through my area (I live in far nothern Ontario), they were hosted by the "Forest School" Hippies, who are all "Meditation" and "Thai Healing Centers" and "Chakras." These people are all hard core Left voters. Whole Foods types...
