Some tips for safeguarding your keys (seed words) for beginners.

Please join in with your own tips.

1. Always write down your seed words

2. Write your seed words on paper or metal plates only (never on devices)

3. When writing them on paper, write each word next to its corresponding number (you don't want to forget their order). Encircle each number so you don't mistake it as an extra letter.

4. NEVER take a photo or a video of your seed words (even using film cameras).

5. NEVER photocopy your paper.

6. Write your seed words on a large piece of paper and not on cards (paper can easily be folded to conceal your keys)

7. NEVER let anyone see your seed words and never tell anyone.

8. It's a good idea to laminate your paper ONLY IF you have your own laminating machine.

9. Metal plates are superior to paper.

10. NEVER use your keys in a typewriter or a fax machine (ancient tech)

11. Write your words legibly and elegantly (you might not look at your words for a decade so you will forget everything about them).

12. Keep an extra copy of the 12 or 24 words in your mind (memorize them)

13. Write with a permanent pen, never with a pencil (you don't want it faded or be erased).

14. NEVER use password manager apps to store your keys.

15. (Optional) use dice rolls to generate your keys instead of directly relying on software to generate it for you.

Please chime in if we forgot anything.
